For the 3rd time now after dining at Red Bowl, the server has helped him or herself to an additional tip on my card that was not approved. Thank goodness I kept a copy of my receipt for proof to dispute. The manager says they are just kids and it happens sometimes by mistake. Really, 3 times is ok with you??? It's basic arithmetic. Hire some staff that are honest and ethical. Watch your bank account or pay in cash if you choose to eat here. I will no longer be a patron of such a dishonest establishment. I wonder how many other people this is happening too.

Went here with the kids and wife. Nice atmosphere and the plates presentation was great. Ordered a beer and the waiter forgot to bring it. No problem I figured maybe it was a sign for me. I try to see things as the glass half full. Wish I had some beer in that glass, but I digress. The food was not bad. Just ok. Not 5 star but not bad. Kinda bland rice. The sweet and sour chicken was very good. Coconut shrimp tasted more like coconut cake. I couldn't taste the shrimp. The kids enjoyed the fries. Everything was freshly made and we appreciated that.

Years ago Red bowl was fantastic. The food was incredible and consistent. Then a few years ago it went way down hill. The quality is just absolutely lacking. Tasteless and poorly prepared. We have given this place three tries in the last 2 years but we are finally done after one last try that turned out to be the worst of all.

Disappointed! Ordered bourbon chicken with fried rice and 2 egg rolls. Had more onions than chicken and didn't even taste like real bourbon chicken. After spending $16, and trying to consume the meal, I was left with disappointed feeling that I was ripped off.

My wife and I were out on the motorcycle for a fine days riding. We were in search of food some place we haven't been before. Find ourselves in Fort Mill, SC we happened upon Red Bowl. I had expected a big ole' buffet. But what a found was a nicely appointed dining room, perhaps a shade or two more dim (lighting) than I'd have liked it, but still nice. My wife and I ordered the "Red Bowl Stir Fry". I had all the veggies (Broccoli, onions, mushrooms, zucchini, carrots), I chose steak; your other choices are chicken, scallops and shrimp. Oh, and they do offer a veggie version. I topped that off with the Spicy Kung Pao Sauce. Other choices are; Teriyaki, Hibachi and Spicy Sha Cha Sauce. You also get a choice of a side of fried rice, white rice or noodles. I chose the noodles. In addition to that we ordered an edamame appetizer as well as some sushi (cucumber). I got the hot and sour soup too. Everything came to the table pretty quick. I didn't feel at all like I'd been waiting a while to get my food. It was presented on nice dishes and your silver was in cloth napkins. Best of all, of course, is that everything tasted great! We had a great time eating there. The staff was attentive, refilling the sweet tea as needed and busing dirty dishes regularly. We'll visit them again!

My husband and I have enjoyed eating at the Rock Hill location of this restaurant for years and love it for many reasons. One is its "Cheers"-like atmosphere where everybody knows your name. When you enter, you will be greeted warmly by Ming at the front desk as well as the hostess, who will most likely remember you on your next visit. We enjoy sitting at the bar where the bartender, Jenni, is absolute tops. She is exceedingly warm, friendly, fun, and efficient- you will never lack for anything and everything will be served to order. And don't be surprised if the manager, Simon, stops by your table to greet you, as well as other servers you've met in this friendly, family-atmosphere restaurant. Last but not least, the food is absolutely delicious. We have tried a variety of things on the menu from sushi to stir-fry and they are all expertly prepared. We love that you can take any dish and customize it, asking them to put the sauce on the side, make the sauce extra-spicy etc. Of all the restaurants we patronize, this one probably supports our desire to eat healthily the best. We are betting that if you try the Rock Hill Red Bowl, you will make your way back there soon!

Eh, this place is hit or miss. I've been here about 5 times for sushi and maybe twice was the sushi good, the other couple times, it wasn't that great. The yellowtail nigiri was really fishy. I always come here when I'm really craving sushi and as we all know, Rock Hill doesn't have many options, so I'm hoping it's gonna be good and it's always just ok.

The service is slow with some people that manage your table. Food is very good. I would recommend sushi. Many different types. Gets very busy on the weekends and on holidays. This is a family restaurant. Enjoy!!

Evan and I waited an hour...one hour for 2 rolls and 9 cut pieces of fish. Again, Rock Hill sits 10 levels below Charlotte in all things. Avoid anything here. Especially Red Bowl.

Red Bowl's food is pretty good for asian food around here. I always order the Honey Walnut Prawn, Mongolian beef & brocolli (spicy) ,noodles as a side, and orange chicken. It's always hot and fast when I get it. I never eat at the restaurant, I always take it to go, because the servers don't look competent enough to serve me. I don't mean to be mean, it's just that I have observed them socializing at the counter, not acknowledge customers and they are not very productive. I would not feel good leaving tip for horrible service. Simon (the male that is always on his bluetooth) seems to be working more in the back running things, and the asian female in the front is pretty fast and courteous. This is still my go-to chinese place in Rock Hill.

So, a trip to pick up a care turned into a full scale crisis. I knew the car had issues but not how severe, but that is another review elsewhere. Since I was in the area and in the mood for Asian food and the Red Bowl was within sighting distance. As soon as I walked into the Resturant, the ambiance was refreshing. The server was very attentive and the food was reasonably priced and delicious. A welcomed break from my hectic day.

Definitely on the decline....use to be a great spot to eat, but unfortunately, not as good as it use to be. It's descent, but that's it...nothing to rant and rave over.

The atmosphere was very nice when I walked into the restaurant. It was decently busy for a Thursday night. I sat at the sushi bar with my dad & had great service from our waitress. Unfortunately- the sushi left little to be desired. The tuna tasted like plastic and the sushi didn't taste fresh at all. I didn't know it was even possible to screw up sushi, but this place proved me wrong. I've never had leftovers when I eat sushi, but I left half of a roll on my plate. I just couldn't finish it because it was that bad. DO NOT order the crunchy tuna roll. However, I hold a high standard to ginger dressing and their dressing was probably some of the best I've ever had. They need to step up their sushi game.

Having made reservations for New Years dinner I was expecting a decent meal of sushi and broccoli and beef. It was not a surprise to see the handful of people waiting what was surprising was the fact that the gentleman who took my reservation didn't write it down. After confirming that my name was not on the list and acknowledging who took the reservation and the time it was taken I was told I could wait in line for seating.

You should get sushi. The thai soup is delicious as well as their version of pad thai , but other dishes are hit and miss and desserts aren't fresh made. The four stars are for the friendly service and the sushi.

One of the few places that offers a nice atmosphere and good food together in Rock Hill. I truly feel the Yin and Yang of Red bowl as it feels calm while the bustling of servers swarm the hive. The sushi here is great! I have to say...order rolls and sashimi. If you find something on the menu that you can't find at another Asian grab-and-go...I'd say go for it. Here's the thing...Red Bowl stretches themselves too far without refining and specializing in any of their dishes outside of the sushi and rolls. Paying over ten dollars for something I can get for six at almost any other Asian joint is absurd. My example (and I should have known better): I ordered the Pad Thai...which I love at Thai restaurants. Just plain boring!. It was just noodles with some chicken. It was a waste of a dining experience IMO. This has been the case several times...and I know I've finally learned my lesson. It's just disappointing to bring people from out of town here and drop a Franklin on a mediocre experience. I do however like Red Bowl a good bit. You just really need to know what to get. Try: The Sushi...it really is good!

Although our server was super nice, I must say the food wasn't happening at all. I've never had pad thai where it's literally only noodles and fish sauce. I was brought something else that wasn't memorable. The red bowl location near Northlake Mall in Charlotte is much much more solid.

I was a big fan of the Red Bowl when they first opened in Fort Mill. Love Love Love sushi and the Red Bowl was a bargain, with both quality sushi and a nice price. Since opening the Rock Hill location it seems that both of these have suffered. Each time I have gone to the Rock Hill location I have vowed never to go back... and then I do... I hate having to drive to Charlotte to get decent sushi; so I end up giving it ONE more shot... and am always disappointed. example: they used to have a GREAT lunch sushi special -- an eel roll and a giant California roll for about $6.50 ... last time I ate there it had morffed into a regular California roll and a "tuna" roll for $9.00 -- I had to send the "tuna" roll back -- I SWEAR it was CANNED tuna pressed into a rice ball --- YUCK!!!! I am not a sushi snob - I understand you usually get what you pay for but...seriously? I should not confuse the tuna roll with stuff that even Charlie the Tuna would turn up his nose at! I got to hand it to them though, -- the place is always packed - Somebody in Rock Hill appreciates canned tuna and COOKED sushi... oh and if you are a fan of "family friendly" (read here out-of-control children running around EVERYWHERE) you are going to LOVE this place!

Although I've been here quite a few times since it opened, im not blown away. The ambiance is pleasant but that's not why we go out to eat, is it? We go for the food. Or at least I do. The main dishes are lacking in flavor and character and leave me wondering why I just spent $12 on a plate of noodles and chicken. That's exactly what the pad thai is, noodles and chicken. This, IMO, is the staple of what the majority of Americans order when they think Thai, yet im always left unsatisfied. Red Bowl makes this every day so it should be great. I can rate just about every dish but let's just say I give 3 out of 5 stars for the main dishes. The only reason I give Red Bowl 4 stars is the sushi. Some what pricey but never a let down. From California rolls to Dragon rolls. From shrimp on a ball of rice to sashimi tuna. All fresh and excellent. My pallet has never been disappointed. If your new to sushi, start with the California rolls. Crab, cucumber and avocado wrapped inside a bed of stick rice and seaweed is great for beginners. If that's not for you, custom order what you want (yes they do that too). So sit back, eat sushi, get a drink from the bar, watch t.v. and you wont be dissatisfied.

I tried the hibachi chicken and it was good, but the shrimp sauce was too thin for me, almost like water. The crab rangoon was good. I would go back and try something else but IMO Iv had better, makes me wish there was a Panda Express in RH. /sigh

Have visited both the RH and FM locations on several occasions. The food always tastes great. My children also love the restaurant, I do too especially on Mondays and Saturdays they eat for 99 cents. The service is always great as are the lunch specials. The servings are a good size and could easily be shared. I have eaten the california rolls and a specialty roll that is tempura battered. The rolls always have ingredients that taste very fresh. The pad thai tastes good but it doesnt consistently taste the same. I have on several occasions made better at home. Also the restaurant advertises serving Vietnamese food. I believe this is misleading. They do serve spring rolls that are traditionally a Vietnamese dish but I do not believe this would constitute advertising serving Vietnamese food. I may be biased as I was raised on Vietnamese food.

Food is WONDERFUL! Whether taking out or dining in--I have never had a bad experience! One of my favorite restaurants in town!

Inhabiting the no-man's-land between strip-mall greasy wok and PF Chang's, Red Bowl does a good job of delivering Americanized Chinese food at a good price. The Hot and Sour Soup is very good, as are the cashew chicken and the dragon + phoenix. Come hungry or hungover, though: big portions make this a good option for family style. I would give 3.5 stars if that were a choice.

We are frequent diners here. For sushi, be sure to try the Red Bowl roll and pacific roll. For entrees, dragon and Phoenix or sesame tofu. Delicious! Comfortable dining, good service.
